Review by Jr. Hernandez

Sittin On A Moonbeam Jitterbug Waltz is a delightful jazz album by Fred Norman that showcases his skills as a composer and musician. The album features a mix of original compositions and jazz standards, all of which are expertly arranged and performed.

The album opens with the title track, "Sittin On A Moonbeam Jitterbug Waltz," a lively and upbeat tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Norman's playful piano work is complemented by the swinging rhythm section and the bright, brassy horns.

Other standout tracks include "Autumn Leaves," which features a soulful saxophone solo, and "Blue Monk," a classic Thelonious Monk tune that is given a fresh interpretation by Norman and his band.

Throughout the album, Norman's playing is characterized by his technical skill and his creative use of melody and harmony. His compositions are complex yet accessible, and his arrangements allow plenty of room for improvisation and exploration.
